Residential Treatment Centers For Depression for Families From Arkansas

Leading Residential Treatment Centers For Depression in Arkansas Helps Teens Achieve Success

Solstice is one of the leading residential treatment centers for depression for teen girls and assigned female at birth aged between 14 and 18 from across the United States, including Arkansas. We help teens on their journey towards overcoming their challenges and achieving success by walking the Hero’s Journey. Each student walks a unique and personal path towards discovering the hero within themselves at their own pace. Their journey focuses on people, discovery, growth, and mastery.

While the journey itself may be their own, the girls and assigned female at birth do not travel it alone. With help from their families, during their journey, they emerge as stronger individuals, as heroes. Residential Treatment Centers For Depression Arkansas

Our 44-bed facility is located in Layton, Utah, just 20 minutes away from Salt Lake City. Although we are located in Utah, we accept teens from Arkansas and all across the country. Sometimes, a little distance help the healing process for both the girls and assigned female at birth and their families.

Unlike most other residential treatment programs, Solstice doesn’t just stick to the traditional methods of treatment. We take a holistic approach, where the connection between mind and body is given emphasis in order to create lasting and effective change. Below are some of the areas in which this approach is emphasized:

  • Importance of Family: We believe strongly in the importance of family relationships. The core of our programming is based on healing damaged relationships and restoring healthy connections within the family system through therapy sessions and seminars.
  • Focus on Physical Fitness and Nutrition: Mental and emotional well-being is very closely tied to physical health. Students work closely with our nutritionist and fitness director to develop personal plans to become physically healthier through better eating habits and by participating in various regular workouts.
  • Prominence of Academics: While focusing on the healing process, the student’s education should not be left behind. Our accredited system helps them through an individualized academic plan with specific measurable goals that support their learning and therapeutic process.

While Solstice is not located in Arkansas, we help family from across the United States. We are located in Utah.

In order to bring about change in our students, our program philosophy is supported by five influential components that we believe in. They are:

  1. People, more than programs, create the more lasting impact.
  2. Intensive family focus helps to address the child’s most important emotional connections family.
  3. Focus on internal change through value development is needed, rather than external compliance.
  4. Holistic approaches that address both physical and emotional needs (mind-body connection) is more effective in solving the issue and not just the symptom.
  5. Female and assigned female at birth specific interventions are necessary to address the unique problems and needs that girls and assigned female at birth have.

The foundation of our program has been built based on these principles and is constantly refined and tuned in order to meet the evolving needs of teen girls. From this, three philosophical pillars emerge to make up the therapeutic culture at Solstice which drive the healing and growth process. The pillars are:

  1. Relationship Based Approach: The process of building and maintaining healthy, trusting relationships with friends, family, and the community around the student.
  2. Principle Driven Foundation: Developing core principles and values that cultivate a desire to identify with, adopt, and nurture desirable qualities such as respect, responsibility, love, family relationships, and personal responsibility.
  3. Experiential Therapy: More effectively learn and heal by €˜doing’ rather than €˜talking’ about doing through activities such as equine therapy, experiential groups, recreation, adventure therapy, and community service.
