• Residential Treatment Program for Teens 14-17

Family Therapy

Family therapy interventions are at the heart of our clinical program. We firmly believe in the strong nature and immense importance of family relationships. Research studies on the effectiveness of residential treatment indicate that the most significant factor in creating positive long-term outcomes for the child is parental involvement in the treatment process. Parental involvement is defined not only by the parents being actively involved in the child’s treatment, but being actively involved in their own treatment and growth process.

The core of our programming is based on healing damaged relationships and restoring healthy connections within the family system. In addition to weekly family therapy sessions by phone or video-conference, we also invite families to come to participate in face-to-face family therapy sessions. Weekend visits with their daughters are encouraged.

We also conduct onsite, multi-day, family seminars which includes all families who are currently enrolled in our program. These intensive, multi-family experiences are conducted 4 times a year and provide powerful, experiential and therapeutic experiences. Oftentimes families will highlight these events as significant turning points in their lives.

A Family Journey

These calls and seminars are incredibly useful in our students’ journeys, but we want to ensure that changes are more than just talk.  This is why our Hero’s Journey includes family therapy intervention every step of the way.

Every phase of the journey involves student expectations and requirements before the student can move onto the next phase. In this way, we help ensure these new skills and habits are strongly instilled before moving on to higher level expectations and challenges.

In a similar vein, family members at home have expectations and requirements to help their child move forward in their Hero’s Journey. Families recognize that creating success involves making changes on their end, to better support healthier relationships with their child.

With students, family, and our caring, passionate staff all working together, we can help instill lasting changes.
